Karen Powers is a professor of Biology at Radford University, teaching courses in vertebrate natural history, wildlife management, and conservation biology. She is a wildlife biologist with a focus on rare bats and rats in the Commonwealth, but also has many student-driven projects related to bird-window collisions. She is an active Virginia Master Naturalist and takes part in a variety of citizen science and educational outreach in natural history-related topics.
